The Game Begins

"Where's who?" Aedl looks around for a moment, then she shrugs, and grins. "Is one of you gonna lend me a weapon, or do I have to tear these guys apart with my bare hands?"

"Bare hands."

"Coo'." With that, she lets out a low growl, turning to face the attackers which have probably come around the corner by now.

Indeed, the guards have rounded the corner. Five stand facing you, one with a warhammer, one with a scimitar, and three wielding longswords. As the round the corner towards you, one shouts "Drop your weapons! We don't want to have to kill you here."

"Θα μπορούσα να πω το ίδιο.(I could say the same)" Shojaux runs forward and slashes at the man with the scimitar, unleashing his shocking grasp with a cry of "Με το αίμα του το μαύρο δράκο!(By the blood of the black dragon!)"

The guard makes a remarkably fast parry, which catches you off guard. Your weapon glances off the armor of his knee, touching just briefly enough to send a ripple of lightning through his armor. However, the sparks fly in your direction as the sword bounces off of the ground, and you receive a significant shock as well.

(The rebounding spell deals three damage)

The guard with the warhammer attempts to strike Shojaux, but the blow bounces harmlessly off of his armor.

Hehta, staying back, shoots the guard with the warhammer.

Your arrow finds its target true, striking the man in the upper ribcage. He staggers, but does not fall.

The guard with the Longsword (1) starts to move around for a more advantageous angle to join in the fight, keeping his sword at the ready to defend against attack. He moves around to about ten feet off Aedl's right side.

The guard with the longsword (2), meanwhile, comes past Shojaux to attack Hehtarusco. As he passes, Shojaux is able to take a stab at him (attack of opportunity), but fails to connect. The guard swings his sword at Hehtarusco, and she doesn't quite successfully dodge, though she is only grazed on the left leg. (the attack deals three damage)

The guard with the scimitar, after receiving quite a shock from Shojaux's spell, pulls back only a step, and watches Shojaux's moves carefully.

(Aedl's turn)

Aedl, seeing the movement to her side, growls and runs at the defensive guard, pouncing upon him, unheeding of his sword.

(Grapple attempt; a bite attack, too, if I can. Iono how 3.5 grapple rules work. ;D)

The man, though startled, barely holds off the pounce by raising his sword. Aedl, undeterred, does the one thing the trained guard obviously wasn't expecting. Aedl sinks her rather sharp teeth into the guard's left shoulder. The guard, surprised as you would expect, jumps back, holding his arm in pain. The puncture wounds glisten a little brightly for blood. He staggers, suddenly, and nearly drops his sword, as his arm swings a little loosely at his side.

Guard Longsword tres, looking in horror at Aedl (as though he's never seen a girl pounce at a guard and bite him before) staggers backwards and starts to stammer, loudly, "B-backup! Reinforcements over here. Prisoners ..." And then he slumps over, apparently asleep.

Shojaux?

Shojaux raises his right arm so that his palm is facing the scimitar guard. He places his left fist (still holding the sword) behind it and whispers "aktína tou pagetoú."(ray of frost) What seems to be a ray of ice shoots from his hand to quickly and temporarily envelope the guard and that which is behind him.

The spell connects, and the man falls over, frozen to death. The look of shock is still somewhat evident in his frost-covered face.

The guard with the warhammer once again fails to connect, as Shojaux sidesteps his incoming blow.

Hehtarusco attempts a point-blank shot at the "gaurd with the longsword (2)"'s head, using the borrowed longbow (Hehta feels rather annoyed that she is reduced to only a longbow, and not even her own).

As though it can feel your doubt, the bow comes up short, and you misfire as the unfamiliar string slips from your fingers.

The guard, seizing his opportunity, successfully knocks the bow from Hehtarusco's hands.

The other guard with the longsword falls back with his friend, clutching his shoulder as though in quite a lot of pain. (Attack of opportunity from Aedl) As he backs away, Aedl manages to get another bite off, this time further down his arm, and the guard yells in agony (this didn't cost a use, Toni).

The guard that would have gone here starts to thaw a little.

Aedl's ear twitches - wait, crap, no it doesn't, but by the time Aedl remembers that her ears do not, in fact, twitch, she is already flying toward the guard threatening Hehta, so she decides to commit fully to her mostly thoughtless action by baring her teeth and doing what comes naturally.

... which is biting. Biting comes naturally.

You, ah (wow) you misjudge the man's reflexes, and catch him in the throat with your sharp teeth. Without thought, you tear his neck from, well, the rest of his body, and, in then process, swallow quite a large amount of blood. Not being accustomed to raw human flesh (I assume), you stagger back a little, but you manage to maintain a grip on your stomach.

A Shojaux.

To clarify, he's dead :3 Very dead.

After a brief shout of "Η πρώτη σκοτώσει είναι δικό μου!" (The first kill is mine!), Shojaux turns toward the guard that just attacked him and fires of another ακτίνα του παγετού (ray of frost).

Meanwhile, he is thinking about how much he wished that the other guard had been the black dragon. He redoubles his vows to slay that fiendish creature, even if he must do so with his last breath.

The guard freezes in place, his eyes closed, as the frost entirely shuts down his movement. Not exactly the effect you're used to, but it did the job.

Hehta?

Hehta, after a moment of being shocked from seeing the gaurd's head torn off, loads her bow and shoots the other victim of Aedl's very sharp teeth, who, she assumes, is still in quite a bit of pain after having his arm bitten twice.

Not that she particularly cares about his feelings while in battle mode.

The guard takes a wound straight to the right temple, dying instantly.

The battle is over (unless someone wants to kill the sleepy one), but you have made a significant amount of noise. Yet, there is a surprising lack of reinforcement coming your way. Hehtarusco notices sounds in the distance of more fighting going on elsewhere in the camp. Apparently, this attack was much better planned than you thought (not that Hehta is surprised; Ladiel always has more of a plan than she lets on).

Aedl, you feel a strong connection with Toka coming from the tent that is barely twenty feet away. Feeling intently anxious, you take a deep breath and notice that you smell ... well, you don't, but it would appear that Toka can smell you. In a completely related matter, you are beginning to develop a bit of a headache. And an ache everywhere. Not from any pain of yours, but rather from the feelings Toka is transmitting.

Ladiel approaches from the rear. Smiling wide, she exclaims "Good fight, Hehta. Not even using this; I'm impressed." On the word "this," she hands you your Longbow and masterfully crafted blade.

Shojaux takes his bow and quiver from Hehtarusco with a nod. He walks to the sleeping guard and slits his throat. "It's about time you got here," he says to Ladiel, still facing the guard. He points with his bow and says "I assume that this was your doing?"

With Ladiel's blessing not quite having yet worn off, you heave a little more heavily than intended, and the man's head is cut in half at the mouth. A few seconds later you feel the extra strength drain out of you.

"The sleep, yes. The horrible butchering job, though, is clearly your handiwork. I'm starting to sense a pattern." But despite the grotesque image, she actually laughs aloud, and continues to give a genuine grin.
Then, frowning a little (but not believably), she turns to Aedl. "Speaking of Butchery ..." She trails off.

Shojaux mutters "It wouldn't have been as bad if not for your spell." Unfortunately, he is unable to conceal his grin.
